Job Description

Job Overview:
We are seeking a motivated and dedicated Master's level Counseling Intern to join our team. As a Counseling Intern, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in various counseling techniques and settings. This internship position provides an excellent opportunity for professional growth and development in the field of counseling.
Duties:
  • Conducting assessments with new clients to determine client needs
  • Provide individual and group counseling sessions
  • Collaborate with the counseling team to develop treatment plans for clients
  • Utilize evidence-based interventions such as motivational interviewing and cognitive-behavioral therapy techniques to support clients
  • Provide support and guidance to clients dealing with addiction, gender issues, and other mental health concerns
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical documentation in compliance with legal and ethical standards
  • Participate in case conferences and team meetings to discuss client progress and treatment strategies
  • Work with diverse populations, including adults with priority diagnosis, substance abuse issues, and homelessness
Requirements:
  • Must be currently enrolled in a counseling or related program at an accredited university or college
  • Must be starting at Practicum level with plans to continue with us for both internships
  • Ability work in the office
  • Ability to work independently
  • Knowledge of counseling theories, techniques, and best practices
  • Familiarity with ICD-10 coding system for medical documentation purposes
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to establish rapport with clients
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical guidelines
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Flexibility to work in different settings, including outpatient clinics, or residential treatment centers.
