Job Description

Overview Helio Health is seeking experienced Licensed Mental Health / SUD Counselors to work Per Diem for our Intensive Crisis Stabilization Center ( ICSC) in Syracuse, NY. The Licensed Counselor/Therapist will provide urgent response and/or treatment services to patients experiencing an acute mental health and/or substance use crisis. The ICSC operates on a 24/7 basis, so we are looking for Per-Diem clinicians with flexible availability to cover a variety of shifts as needed.
Pay Rate:
$28.00/hr. to $34.00/hr. Responsibilities Maintain a case load of individuals seeking treatment with a variety of behavioral healthcare needs. Perform essential counseling/therapist responsibilities including screening, intake and assessment, evaluation and intervention, treatment planning, discharge planning, referrals, crisis intervention, and psychoeducation. Exhibit exemplary knowledge of the biopsychosocial process of substance use, addiction, behavioral health, self-help group processes, and principles of counseling. Provide evidenced-based counseling. Be a change agent for the community by providing person-centered, strengths-based, harm reduction services. Maintain case records in accordance with state and federal regulations. Assist with the training of staff and student interns as assigned. Relate effectively with individuals served, Helio staff and the community while upholding appropriate standards of confidentiality. Qualifications Qualified Health Professional (CASAC, LMSW, LCSW, LMHC, LMFT, LCAT or equivalent licensure or permit eligible) One year experience working as a licensed mental health and/or substance use counselor. Two years' experience in the Human Services field working with individuals with mental health, substance use or co-occurring disorders preferred. Master's degree preferred, Bachelor's degree required. Valid New York State Driver License, access to reliable transportation Proficiency with basic computer applications.
