Definition:
Under the general supervision of the Site Director and Program Director, the Child Care Aide provides exceptional child care services to the children attending the program.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Remains with the children at all times Establishes a rapport, gain the confidence of, and maintain ongoing, regular contacts with the children and their parents/guardians Assists in the creation and implementation of engaging projects/activities/games Provides tutoring assistance to children grades 1st-5th in completing homework Prepares snack daily Performs daily cleaning duties as assigned to maintain comfort, cleanliness and orderliness of environment and equipment Maintains communication with one another from shift to shift regarding the children in the program. This will be accomplished through each staff member contributing to and reviewing the logbook during each and all shifts Follows the advice and direction of the Site Director and/or Program Director to ensure consistency in the completion of behavioral intervention strategies and/or use of various teaching techniques Attends and participate in staff meetings Attends and participate in training sessions and in-services to increase knowledge and the effectiveness of working with the children/families served Maintains positive and professional behavior/attitude while on duty Assists in completion of emergency preparedness drills (i.e. fire, earthquake, etc.) In the event of an emergency, the Child Care Aide must call for additional support from the Lead Instructional Assistant or the Site Director, then from the Program Director Other related duties as assignedKnowledge and Abilities:

High school diploma or equivalent Experience in child care Education- any ECE units Willing to attend training session on topics related to duties
Required Licenses and Certificates:
Criminal Justice/Fingerprint clearance Mandated Reporter- required annually Sexual Harassment prevention training Verification of TB clearance CSEA approved: February 2, 2020 Board approved: March 11, 2020
