Job Description
Future Scholars is currently looking to hire 4 part-time opener/closers. Daycare Opener / Closer Position Summary We are seeking a dependable, responsible, and caring Daycare Opener/Closer to help ensure our childcare center is clean, safe, organized, and ready for children and families each day. Opening Responsibilities Arrive on time and open the daycare facility according to center procedures and state regulations. Unlock center and prepare classrooms for the day. Check that the facility is clean, safe, and ready for children. Turn on necessary lights, equipment, and systems. Prepare classroom materials and supplies for staff and children. Complete opening safety and facility checks. Assist with welcoming children and families as needed. Communicate any maintenance, safety, or supply concerns to management. Closing Responsibilities Ensure all children have been safely picked up before closing the facility. Clean and organize classrooms, bathrooms, and common areas. Sanitize toys, surfaces, tables, and frequently touched areas as required. Restock classroom and cleaning supplies. Dispose of trash and ensure food and other items are properly stored. Complete the closing checklist. Turn off lights and equipment as required. Secure doors, and the facility before leaving. Report any incidents, concerns, or maintenance issues to management. Qualifications Reliable, punctual, and responsible. Comfortable working around young children. Able to follow health, safety, state of CT regulations and childcare center procedures. Strong attention to cleanliness and organization. Able to work independently and complete opening and closing duties. Good communication and teamwork skills. Previous childcare experience is required. Must meet all applicable state childcare employment requirements. Schedule Opening and/or closing shifts that are available: 7:00am-11:00am and 1:30pm-5:30pm Must be dependable and consistently arrive on time for scheduled shifts. Some flexibility may be required based on the daycare's operating hours and ratios. Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is trustworthy, hardworking, attentive to detail, and understands the importance of maintaining a safe, clean, welcoming environment for children and families . Must be over 18 and be willing to get CPR, First Aid, AED, Med, and EpiPen certified. Position is from 7:00am-11:00am or 1:30pm-5:30pm
