Job Description
The Opportunity Our family is looking for a warm, dependable, energetic, and highly organized full-time nanny to care for our three children: a newborn arriving in September, a 3-year-old, and a 6-year-old. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced nanny, teacher, early-childhood educator, or childcare professional who loves working with children but is ready for a more personal environment. Instead of dividing your attention across a classroom of 20 or 30 children, you will have the time and support to provide individualized care, plan meaningful activities, and build a genuine relationship with our family. Although we have three children, you will not typically be caring for all three throughout the entire day: Our 6-year-old attends school Monday through Friday from approximately 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Our 3-year-old attends school Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from approximately 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Much of the day will primarily involve caring for the newborn and our 3-year-old, and at times only the newborn. The position will initially focus on helping with our 3-year-old and 6-year-old while learning our family's routines. Once the baby arrives, newborn care will become the primary focus while continuing to support the older children around their school schedules. We are looking for someone who wants more than a short-term childcare job. We hope to find a trusted, long-term addition to our family who takes pride in helping our children and household thrive. What You'll DoChildcare Provide attentive, loving, and developmentally appropriate care for our newborn, 3-year-old, and 6-year-old. Manage daily routines, including meals, naps, school schedules, playtime, and activities. Prepare bottles and simple meals and snacks for the children. Thoroughly clean and sanitize bottles and child-related dishes after use. Plan educational, creative, and recreational activities appropriate for each child's age. Encourage reading, learning, outdoor play, creativity, and age-appropriate independence. Take the children on approved outings and activities. Assist with school routines and transportation when needed. Maintain a safe, nurturing, structured, and positive environment. Provide daily updates through the Daily Nanny app regarding activities, meals, naps, and overall well-being. Proactively suggest activities or routine changes that may benefit the children. Household Support Tidy the children's bedrooms, play areas, and shared spaces throughout the day. Handle laundry for the children's clothing, bedding, and linens. Wash and put away dishes used during the day. Help unload or load the dishwasher as needed. Clean kitchen counters, the sink, and floors before leaving. Keep toys, books, clothing, and children's supplies organized. Create a weekly list of needed snacks, food, activity supplies, and household items. Use downtime proactively to prepare for the children's needs and help keep the household running smoothly. Leave the home at the end of each shift as clean and organized as it was at the beginning. This is not a heavy housekeeping position. However, we are looking for someone who takes ownership of the spaces used by the children and has a proactive, family-assistant mindset. Pet Care Our family has two dogs, so applicants must be comfortable around dogs.
