Site Lead Responsible to: Site Supervisor & School Age Child Care Director Position Summary Support position under the supervision of the Site Supervisor and School Age Child Care Director. Assists in the coordination of daily operations of the School Age Child Care Programs; supports adherence to regulations from the Office of Children and Family Services (OCFS) and Ballston Area Community Center (BACC) policies; helps maintain a safe, welcoming, and developmentally appropriate environment for children; and assumes site leadership responsibilities in the absence of the Site Supervisor. Essential Functions Personnel Acts as the on-site lead in the absence of the Site Supervisor. Supports daily supervision of School Age Child Care (SACC) staff to ensure smooth program operations and compliance with staff-to-child ratios. Promotes a positive and professional work environment for all staff, children, and families. Assists in training new staff and provides ongoing support and coaching to team members. Communicates any concerns or needs to the Site Supervisor or School Age Child Care Director promptly. Policies Upholds OCFS, DOH, and DSS regulations, and helps ensure program compliance. Follows BACC policies and procedures and assists in communicating expectations to staff and families. Planning & Program Support Assists in the day-to-day operation and supervision of program activities. Walks children to and from school or the bus safely and with accountability. Ensures proper use and upkeep of program supplies, materials, and equipment. Supports activity planning and implementation that is age-appropriate, inclusive, and engaging. Helps log and plan monthly fire drills, attendance tracking, incident and accident reports, and general documentation. Maintains open communication with families through daily updates, reminders, and relaying of minor incidents or concerns. Supports the preparation and supervision of snacks and breakfast, including food pick-ups and supply tracking. Administrative Support Helps maintain records related to attendance, medical needs, emergency contacts, and incident reports. Assists in collecting payments and distributing receipts and monthly statements when needed. Assists with monthly food menus, newsletters, and program communications. Supports staff and child schedules, extended day sign-ups, and vacation tracking. Notifies families in case of illness or behavioral incidents, and ensures all relevant documentation is completed and communicated. Recruitment, Outreach & Inclusion Supports recruitment efforts for new participants and promotes program offerings to families and the community. Models and encourages a welcoming, inclusive program climate that respects all children and their developmental needs. Assists with public relations, representing BACC positively in all interactions with schools, families, and community members. Fundraising & Events Assists with fundraising efforts, special events, and community activities as directed. Other Duties Collaborates with the Site Supervisor and Child Care Director to meet program goals and uphold BACC's mission. Completes additional tasks or responsibilities as assigned. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or working toward a degree in Education, Recreation, or related field preferred. Minimum of one year experience working in a childcare or youth programming setting. Demonstrated leadership qualities and the ability to supervise peers or children in a group setting. Must meet all OCFS, DSS, and Child Protective Services requirements. First Aid and CPR certification preferred, or willingness to become certified within 30 days of hire. Strong communication skills and ability to interact effectively with children, families, and staff. Ability to remain calm, responsive, and professional in fast-paced or challenging situations.
