Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a compassionate and responsible Babysitter/Nanny to provide high-quality childcare for our family. The ideal candidate will have experience caring for (4) children of various ages ranging from 2-6, and will be dedicated to ensuring a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment. This role requires flexibility, patience, and a genuine love for working with children. This position will be at a guaranteed 40hrs a week salary and optional extra hours throughout the school year though not required. We have employed a Nanny position for five continous years and will continue to need one for at least another 4-5 years. Oldest will be starting in first grade, 2nd oldest will be in pre-K. There will be times when visiting extending family that this will be paid time off, does not count against vacation. The frequency of this varies throughout the year. Two weeks paid vacation. 3 days paid sick time. (Sick time is just a formal number in the event issue becomes abused). Duties Supervise and engage children in age-appropriate activities to promote their physical, emotional, and social development. Provide attentive care for infants and toddlers, including diaper changes, feeding, and nap time. Prepare nutritious meals and snacks while accommodating any dietary restrictions or preferences. Assist with homework and educational activities for older children. Maintain a clean and organized environment by tidying up play areas and children's belongings. Ensure the safety of children at all times by adhering to safety protocols and guidelines. Communicate effectively with parents regarding children's daily activities, behavior, and any concerns that may arise. Administer first aid when necessary and maintain a calm demeanor in emergency situations. Situational, picking up or dropping kids off at school in provided vehicle. As of now, this has not been necessary. No general household chores but on lighter days we do appreciate cleanup on areas associated with the kids, such as dishes related to the kids, toy room, kid's rooms. Experience Proven experience in babysitting or nannying is preferred; familiarity with toddler care and infant care is highly valued. Background in childcare settings such as daycare or caregiving roles is a plus. Knowledge of first aid and CPR certification is beneficial but not mandatory; willingness to obtain certification is encouraged. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build trusting relationships with both children and parents. A patient, nurturing attitude coupled with excellent communication skills.
