Job Description
Wednesday Morning Child Caregivers attend to children on the first and third Wednesday of each month while their mothers attend MomCo meetings. Caregivers are valuable staff members of Asbury. They need to be patient, friendly, and polite with successful experience in caring for young children. Duties may include feeding, changing diapers, and escorting children to the bathroom. Duties with older children may include leading an activity, playing a game with them, monitoring their interactions with each other, and explaining expected behaviors. Caregivers are responsible for maintaining a safe environment for the children in their care, and cheerfully interacting with them. A minimum of two Caregivers work together with children at Asbury. This shift, on the first and third Wednesday of each month, runs from 9:30 am to 11:30 am. The MomCo program runs from September through May, but there will be breaks for Christmas and New Years holiday times.
Compensation:
$18.00/hourRequirements:
- Must be at least 18 years of age with valid I.D. (passport or Social Security Card/Drivers License, etc.)
- Must supply references of previous childcare experience
- Must live within a reasonable distance of Harrisonburg, Virginia
- Applicants will need to pass a background check ordered by Asbury United Methodist Church prior to acceptance for employment.
- Must comply with Asbury's childcare policies.
