Job Description

Summary of Position The Worship Leader will lead and oversee the worship ministry of Cloud's Creek Baptist Church, providing spiritual and organizational leadership for the church's corporate worship gatherings. The position is responsible for planning and preparing the musical elements of worship services, coordinating the Worship and Tech Teams, and ensuring that each service is thoughtfully prepared, theologically sound, and executed with excellence. The purpose of this role is not simply to lead songs on Sunday morning, but to cultivate a worship ministry in which musicians, vocalists, and technical volunteers are equipped to serve the church effectively and help the congregation worship God together. Qualifications and Requirements ♢ An authentic, growing follower of Jesus Christ with a demonstrated lifestyle of obedience. ♢ Demonstrated musical ability and experience leading congregational worship (ability to lead from an instrument preferred) ♢ Strong Alignment with CCBC's mission, vision, values, and philosophy of ministry. ♢ Exceptional organizational, relational, and communication skills. ♢ Strong understanding of biblical worship and a desire to help the congregation worship God through Christ-centered, congregational singing ♢ Ability to select and arrange songs that are theologically sound, congregationally accessible, and appropriate for the church's worship gatherings ♢ Ability to lead, develop, encourage, and communicate effectively with musicians, vocalists, and technical volunteers ♢ Strong attention to detail while maintaining a ministry-first perspective ♢ Ability to lead, develop, encourage, and communicate effectively with musicians, vocalists, and technical volunteers ♢ Must be or become an active member of Cloud's Creek Baptist Church ♢ Proficient in technology and computer usage, including the ability to work with digital music, presentation, and worship-planning resources. Responsibilities ♢ Lead the church in corporate worship through Christ-centered, biblically faithful, and congregationally focused worship ♢ Model personal worship, spiritual maturity, humility, preparation, and servant leadership for the Worship and Tech Teams ♢ Help volunteers understand how their individual roles contribute to the church's larger ministry and worship ♢ Oversee the planning of the musical elements of weekly worship services ♢ Develop weekly song lists and determine the order, transitions, keys, arrangements, and other musical elements necessary for each service ♢ Plan ahead for special services, holidays, baptisms, communion, church-wide gatherings, and other worship opportunities ♢ Create, maintain, and distribute accurate chord charts and other necessary musical resources ♢ Coordinate, schedule, and lead rehearsals for worship services and events. ♢ Oversee scheduling for musicians, vocalists, and Tech Team volunteers ♢ Recruit, develop, audition, and train musicians, vocalists, and technical volunteers as needed ♢ Foster a healthy team culture characterized by humility, preparation, encouragement, accountability, and service ♢ Communicate with the Tech Team regarding service order, presentation needs, lyrics, media, transitions, and other production requirements ♢ Work with the appropriate volunteers to ensure that presentation, audio, streaming, and other technical elements are prepared for each service ♢ Evaluate weekly worship services and identify opportunities for improvement ♢ Maintain a balance of both traditional and contemporary worship styles. ♢ Maintain regular communication with the Senior Pastor regarding worship planning, ministry needs, team health, and upcoming services ♢ Provide recommendations regarding worship ministry, music, volunteers, equipment, technology, and team development ♢ Help the Senior Pastor protect the church's overall vision by taking ownership of the day-to-day planning and coordination of the worship ministry ♢ Attend staff meetings (currently monthly) ♢ All other duties as prescribed by the senior pastor. Schedule & Availability ♢ Bi-vocational on a mutually agreed weekly schedule ♢ Regular availability for weekly worship rehearsals and Sunday worship gatherings ♢ Reasonable flexibility for special services, church-wide events, holidays, and other scheduled worship opportunities ♢ The Senior Pastor and Worship Leader will regularly review workload and priorities to ensure expectations remain appropriate for a part-time position
