Bachelor's Degree in Christian Ministry and 5 years of Christian ministry experience Uniform-wearing Salvationist in good standing preferred Experience working with the public, including addicted individuals, persons with a diagnosed mental disorder, and those coming from the criminal justice system. Experience and ability in public speaking and teaching. Ability to work with people of diverse backgrounds and circumstances Able to maintain a non-judgement attitude, professional approach and boundaries with clients Ability to maintain strict confidentiality Effective positive and professional verbal & written communication, interpersonal skills and motivation practices Excellent working knowledge of computers including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook Experience with the supervision of volunteers. Ability to pass a criminal background check Valid NV Driver's License with a clean driving record Must pass TSA Fleet Safety E-Learning moduleRESPONSIBILITIES
Have direct responsibility for weekly chapel services and/or coordination of all volunteers participating or conducting chapel services at Owens and other TSA Social Service facilities. Lead and facilitate Bible study groups for TSA Social Service beneficiaries. Develop working relationships with all Corps Officers to encourage their participation in campus spiritual activities and build connections to other Corps congregation activities Conduct spiritual assessments of all new clients and prepare a spiritual growth plan for those interested. Coordinate client participation in special Corps activities, events and annual retreats. Coordinate client participation in volunteer service opportunities. Coordinate and/or conduct advanced spiritual growth and practical theology classes and Bible studies for those clients deciding to advance to this level of spirituality. Be available to staff members of TSA Social Service facilities for spiritual counsel as requested. Be responsible for the recording and reporting of all statistical data for TSA Social Service chaplaincy programs and activities. Visit social service clients who may be hospitalized or incarcerated Establish and maintain regular office hours in Day Resource Center and Family Services for counseling Attend all staff meetings as assigned. Other duties as assigned that relate to the position of Chaplain.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, stand, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl and reach with hands and arms. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 35 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
