Per Diem /As Needed Schedule:
Chaplains primarily work during day shifts but also can be called in for urgent needs and cover church services on Sundays. This per diem role would cover the part-time chaplain's time off. It could be a weekday or weekend day. Clifton Spring's chaplain works Sunday-Thursday, DeMay/Newark workday Mon, Wed, Fri and Sunday.Position Summary:
Functions as a member of the RRH health care team, providing proactive spiritual and emotional care to patients, families and staff regardless of faith tradition or system of belief.Key Responsibilities:
Makes regular visits to assigned RRH patient units. Responds to referrals from the medical and nursing staff, social worker, and other support staff personnel. Responds to requests from families for spiritual/emotional support for the patient and/or themselves. Attends interdisciplinary meetings of care teams in order to integrate the role of spiritual care with other disciplines and to build strong working relationships among the members of the team. Provides spiritual and emotional support, upon request and as deemed necessary, to RRH. Addresses ethical issues relating to patients, families and staff with demonstrated knowledge of subject areas and concern for the individual's well-being. Assists the patient's own clergyperson in appropriate ways to meet his or her responsibility to their parishioner, including notifying clergy of patient's hospitalization with permission. Serves on various hospital committees, task forces, as requested. Leads in-service presentations on relevant issues to promote staff awareness and education. Relays problems/concerns to Leadership. Provides on-call coverage overnight and weekends as needed.Desired Attributes:

Light - Clinical - Light clinical roles involve frequent standing and walking, with occasional lifting of light objects ( 20 lbs.) and routine reaching, grasping, and fine manipulation for tasks such as patient care, laboratory work, or specimen processing. Staff rely on strong visual and auditory acuity to accurately observe specimens, read instrumentation, monitor patients, respond to alarms, and communicate effectively with care teams. Cognitive demands include multitasking, prioritizing clinical and laboratory workflows, and coordinating with interdisciplinary teams. Emotional resilience is necessary due to frequent interruptions, shifting priorities, and the need for precise and compassionate interaction with patients and colleagues. Environmental exposures may include infectious materials, biological specimens, cleaning agents, sharps, chemical reagents, and wet surfaces. PPE use, TB testing, and schedule flexibility are commonly required. For disease specific care programs refer to the program specific requirements of the department for further specifications on experience and educational expectations, including continuing education requirements.
