We are looking for a Family Pastor focused on developing ministry teams, equipping parents for at-home discipleship, and building a comprehensive spiritual pathway for families. The Opportunity Monclova Road Baptist Church is hiring a Family Pastor to provide strategic and relational leadership to our ministries serving newborns through young adults. This role requires an individual capable of engaging every age group, recruiting and developing strong volunteer teams, and seamlessly integrating the next generation into the broader life and service of the church body. Who We Are Monclova Road Baptist Church has been making disciples in the Toledo area for over fifty years. Under new leadership, we are laying a foundation for the next stage of our church's life by reaching the community and building up disciples within our multi-generational church family. Rooted in established Baptist theology and a commitment to biblical truth, we also serve as the home to Monclova Christian Academy, a chartered Christian school for K5 through 12th-grade students and their families. The Position The Family Pastor provides oversight and pastoral care to our family ministry teams. During a typical week, this leader will invest the majority of their time directly into student ministries (Monclova Students, 7th-12th grades) and parents, while giving vision and direction to the children's ministry and nursery directors. The core focus of this position is to establish multi-generational influence, equip families to disciple in their own homes, and create consistent opportunities for the next generation to serve the church through worship, community outreach, and practical service projects. Candidates may send a resume to Job Description The Family Pastor will provide leadership to the various volunteers and ministry teams ministering to newborns to young adults. He will carry out the church's mission and vision, being strategically minded, administratively skilled, and intentional with recruiting and development of teams within the scope of the family ministry. He will also possess a pastoral heart that can lead volunteers, parents, and kids/students in a relational ministry style as he serves as the team leader in these areas. During a normal week, the individual should plan to spend the majority of their week investing in student ministries and parents while giving oversight to the children's ministry director and nursery director. Other responsibilities may be assigned based on needs, gifting, and experience.

Senior Pastor Responsibilities Family Ministry

  • Engage Every Age Group ○ Find ways to provide multi-generational influence for family ministries
  • Develop Ministry Teams ○ Recruit and develop team members to meet the needs of children, students, and young adults within the body of the church ○ Ensure that teams have resources necessary to effectively carry out their mission ○ Work with the Monclova Students (7th-12th grades) volunteer team, children's ministry director, young adults ministry leaders, and nursery director to develop and implement a comprehensive discipleship pathway for the family ministry • Partner with Parents ○ Equip families to make disciples within the home • Promote Involvement in the Church ○ Create consistent opportunities for service within the church body for the next generation such as supporting worship services, accomplishing service projects for shut-ins and widows, participating in community outreach, etc.

Pastoral Responsibilities

  • Support the Senior Pastor in the overall vision casting and leadership of the church's teaching
  • Work with the pastoral team to ensure weekend and midweek services and ministries are planned and executed
  • Communication skills to effectively preach as needed
  • Know the congregation by showing intense interest in them
  • Responsible for tracking the spiritual growth and progress of members in ministry areas
  • May perform other duties as assigned Personal Qualifications
  • Possesses personality, temperament and interpersonal skills to relate and serve effectively within a multi-generational congregation setting
  • Exhibit evidence of Christian character and servant leadership as stated in 1 Timothy 3:1-7, Titus 1:5-9, and 1 Peter 5:1-4 in work environment as well as in home/family setting
  • Give evidence of a spiritually balanced life (prayer, Bible study, rest, worship, financial stewardship)
  • Doctrinally aligned with MRBC's Statement of Faith, doctrinal positions, mission, and core values (available at monclovabaptist.org)
  • Demonstrate a clear call to ministry and be ordained by a Baptist church or be willing to pursue ordination in accordance with the church's doctrinal convictions within the first twelve months
  • Give evidence of a strong work ethic and personal integrity Education & Skills
  • Knowledge and ability to use the Bible to guide a new disciple to ongoing spiritual maturity
  • Bachelor's degree or its experiential equivalent. (Preferably from a Christian college or university aligned with Baptist theology with emphasis in Theology or Student Ministry)
  • Relevant Seminary/Graduate Degree is strongly preferred
  • Previous experience in Youth/Student or Children's Ministries required Hours and Benefits The Family Pastor will be classified as a full-time, exempt employee.
