Job Responsibilities Provides for weekly worship services and the sacraments. Assists in providing crisis intervention services for inmates including, but not limited to, deaths and critical illness of family members. Conducts religious education classes and social skills groups as needed and/or requested. Provides individual and group pastoral counseling. Provides daily visitation to inmates as needed. Recruits and trains institutional volunteers. Must successfully complete four (4) weeks SCDC Basic Training upon hire. Minimum and Additional Requirements State of South Carolina Minimum Requirements:

The equivalent of a Master of Divinity degree from an accredited theological school, additional clinical pastoral education and/or work experience in a clinical pastoral setting.

SCDC Minimum Requirements:

Must have the equivalent of a Master of Divinity degree from an accredited theological seminary; Ordination as a priest, minister, or Rabbi, with current ecclesiastical endorsement; one (1) year of pastoral experience; and must have completed two (2) CPE units under the supervision of an ACPE certified educator. Will be required to have 4 units of CPE within 24 months of hire.
