Part-Time Minister of Youth and Families White Rock United Methodist Church is seeking a relational, creative, and spiritually grounded Minister of Youth and Families to lead and grow our ministry with students in grades 6-12. Our youth ministry is about creating a place where young people can ask questions, build meaningful relationships, explore their faith, and know they are loved and valued for who they are. What You'll Do:
Lead Youth Ministry Lead Sunday evening youth group (6:30-8:00 p.m.) and Sunday morning youth programming. Select curriculum and create opportunities for faith formation, fellowship, retreats, mission trips, and other youth activities. Coordinate confirmation for students in grades 7-9. Help youth find meaningful ways to participate in worship and the life of the church. Build Relationships Develop strong, supportive relationships with youth and their families. Connect with youth beyond church through school events, games, performances, and other activities. Welcome new families and support opportunities for parents and families to connect and grow together. Develop Leaders Recruit, train, support, and coordinate adult youth volunteers and chaperones, following MinistrySafe guidelines. Collaborate Work closely with the Senior Pastor, Minister of Children and Families, and other staff to create a connected and engaging ministry for children, youth, and families. Participate in weekly staff and worship meetings and help with intergenerational church events and programs. Additional Responsibilities Manage the youth ministry and mission trip budgets. Participate in worship as needed. We are looking for someone who: Loves working with middle and high school students and understands adolescent development. Has a strong, growing Christian faith and an understanding of United Methodist theology and practice. Builds authentic, trusting relationships with youth, parents, volunteers, and congregants. Is committed to inclusion, social justice, and creating a church where every young person knows they belong. Brings creativity, energy, and a pastoral presence to youth ministry. Schedule & Compensation This is a 20-hour-per-week part-time position with a flexible schedule. Youth ministry includes evening and weekend responsibilities, as well as occasional travel for retreats and mission trips. We value healthy boundaries and will work together to create a sustainable schedule.
