What You'll Do As Director of Child Welfare, you will provide leadership and oversight for our Child Welfare programs, working closely with the CEO, supervisors, and staff to ensure we provide high-quality services and meet all applicable licensing, regulatory, accreditation, and contractual requirements. You'll have the opportunity to: Lead and support our Adoption, Foster Care, and Licensing programs. Coach, supervise, and develop professional staff and department supervisors. Work with leadership to establish goals, improve processes, and solve challenges. Build strong relationships with community partners and other Child Welfare professionals. Represent the agency at community meetings, events, committees, and speaking engagements. Ensure programs meet state licensing standards, contract requirements, productivity expectations, and quality standards. Monitor program data, outcomes, caseloads, and other performance measures and use that information to identify opportunities for improvement. Stay current on Child Welfare laws, DHHS regulations, and best practices and help translate changes into effective policies and procedures. Support program audits, site visits, accreditation activities, and compliance reviews. Partner with Quality Assurance and HR to support the agency's national accreditation efforts. Provide training, orientation, and technical assistance to Child Welfare staff. Work collaboratively with leadership to address challenges and continuously improve the services we provide. What We're Looking For We're looking for someone who combines Child Welfare expertise with strong leadership and people skills.

The ideal candidate will have:

A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Social Work, Criminal Justice, Social Services, Human Services, or a related field. At least 5 years of experience in Child Welfare, Substance Abuse, Mental Health, or a related human services program. At least 2 years of supervisory experience. Knowledge and experience with Adoption, Foster Care, and Licensing. Strong communication, organizational, problem-solving, and leadership skills. The ability to analyze information, prepare reports, and communicate recommendations effectively. The ability to work collaboratively with staff, leadership, community partners, and individuals from diverse backgrounds. Good judgment, professionalism, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. A Few Important Details This position requires a valid driver's license and automobile insurance. The successful candidate must also pass required background and clearance checks, including criminal background and DHHS Central Registry checks. The position may occasionally require evening, weekend, or holiday hours based on program and community needs.
