In this role, you will be required to conduct regular peer support group meetings, develop recovery strategies, and coordinate client schedules and logistics. Must have personal experience with managing various stages of recovery from mental health, substance use, and/or co-occurring disorders. This role requires knowledge of behavioral health systems, recovery resources, and the reentry process. You should be empathetic and possess interpersonal communication skills. A peer support specialist should be able to easily identify warning signs in clients and provide effective interventions and emotional support. Role Responsibilities Provide support to members Co-create recovery and or behavioral health plans with members and their support teams. Adhere to HIPAA, and other data privacy practices Provide support with identifying and linking members to community-based resources. Promote wellness, self-care, self-advocacy and recovery and or behavioral health management techniques Transportation to client appointments and or events. Maintain and promote professional responsibility and ethical standards

QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Experience:

Two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred. Personal experience with behavioral health.

Language Ability:

• Ability to write reports, business correspondence; ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from peers or groups.

Computer Skills:

• Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Outlook E-mail Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Excellent oral and written communication skills Willingness to learn strength‐based, person‐centered, trauma-informed, and culturally aware approaches to peer support Proficient with computers, word processing, spreadsheets, and other applications Experienced with developing and fostering internal and external relationships

From $19.50 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
