Part-time/ Non-Exempt, Animal Operations 20 hours per week Job Summary We're looking for a people person with a love for animals to join our team as Volunteer Coordinator. In this role, you'll manage our team of volunteers, this includes recruiting, scheduling and engagement. This is a great fit for someone who enjoys working with a wide range of people, is highly organized and wants to make a hands-on difference in the lives of shelter animals. Job Responsibilities & Duties (included but are not limited to) Core Competencies Excellent written and verbal communication skills Strong organizational and time management skills Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines Strong alignment with Animal Care League's mission, vision, and values Volunteer Program Management Recruit, train, schedule, and retain a robust team of volunteers and foster families. Serve as the primary point of contact for all volunteer-related matters Track hours, engagement, and impact through volunteer management software Support shelter departments by connecting them with capable volunteers Qualifications 1+ years experience in volunteer management or supervising a team Strong organizational and communication skills Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines Comfortable using various computer software programs Willingness to work an occasional evening or weekend as needed Physical Requirements & Work Environment Comfortable working in an animal shelter environment, including exposure to animals, noise, and cleaning solutions Must be able to stand or sit for extended periods and work at a computer regularly Occasional local travel for events or meetings may be required What We Offer A supportive, mission-driven team Opportunities to create lasting community impact Time spent surrounded by adoptable pets Flexibility, creativity, and the chance to shape a growing program This is an on-site position with an hourly range of $17- $21 depending on experience.
