Job Description
Residential Counselor Are you compassionate, dependable, and looking for a rewarding opportunity where your work can make a meaningful difference in the lives of others? Project REAL is seeking dedicated Residential Counselors to join our team. In this role, you will support adults with mental health disabilities as they work toward greater independence and achieve their personal goals within a community residential setting. Key Responsibilities Residential Counselors are responsible for the supervision, support, and care of the individuals residing in our programs.
Responsibilities include:
Ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of residents Supporting residents with daily living activities and personal goals Implementing scheduled recreational and program activities Documenting services and residents' progress Assisting with the development and implementation of individualized service plans Participating in semiannual and annual resident review meetings Advocating for residents' needs Helping residents identify and overcome challenges Working collaboratively with program staff and other service providers Qualifications Applicants must meet one of the following requirements: Master's or Bachelor's degree in a human services-related field Associate degree in a human services-related field and at least three years of human services experience High school diploma or equivalent and at least five years of human services experience Other professional qualifications approved in writing by the New York State Office of Mental Health Some local travel is required. A valid driver's license is required.
