This is a strong part-time opportunity for someone who is independent, organized, dependable, and skilled at building meaningful relationships with clients. Unlike starting from scratch, this role comes with established programming and an existing participant base , providing a strong starting point for someone interested in developing a consistent caseload. Long-term success will depend heavily on motivation, relationship building, client engagement, follow-through, organization, and time management. What You'll Do Facilitate Job Readiness programming for DOC/community corrections participants Facilitate health, wellness, fitness, and healthy-lifestyle programming Provide individual peer and/or behavioral health support as appropriate Help clients develop employment readiness, life skills, healthy routines, accountability, and community stability Build strong relationships with clients while maintaining appropriate professional boundaries Encourage continued participation and engagement in available services Connect clients with employment, vocational, community, and re-entry resources when appropriate Coordinate with Sagebrush leadership, facility staff, and other members of the client's support team Complete timely and accurate documentation in accordance with Sagebrush, BHA, and Medicaid requirements Independently manage scheduling, client follow-up, documentation, and communication Minimum Qualification Pathways Applicants must meet at least ONE of the following qualification pathways: A. Peer Professional Working Toward CPFS Minimum of 60 hours of COPA-approved peer support training Currently working toward obtaining the Colorado Peer and Family Specialist (CPFS) credential B. Credentialed Peer Professional Current Colorado Peer and Family Specialist (CPFS) credential C. Qualified Behavioral Health Assistant Current Qualified Behavioral Health Assistant (QBHA) credential Minimum of 60 hours of accredited behavioral health-related education or training , which may include peer support training or relevant college coursework/training Minimum of one year of experience in the behavioral health field in a client-facing role Additional Requirements All applicants must also have: High School Diploma or GED Valid driver's license Reliable personal vehicle and transportation Reliable computer or laptop for documentation and communication Strong organizational and time-management skills Ability to work independently, take initiative, and consistently follow through Ability to complete required criminal background screening and meet applicable DOC/community corrections facility requirements Demonstrated stability and responsible community living for at least the previous two years Preferred Experience We strongly prefer candidates with experience in one or more of the following areas: Job readiness, employment support, vocational services, or workforce development , including resumes, applications, interviewing, job searches, workplace skills, and connecting individuals with employment resources Fitness, exercise, wellness, sports, coaching, or healthy-lifestyle programming Working with justice-involved individuals, re-entry populations, or individuals transitioning from incarceration Knowledge of Denver-area employment, workforce, community, and re-entry resources Candidates who bring a combination of peer or behavioral health experience, employment-resource knowledge, and an interest or background in health and fitness will be especially strong fits for this role. Justice-System Lived Experience Previous incarceration, DOC involvement, probation/parole, or other lived experience within the criminal justice system is not a disqualifier and may be a significant strength in this role. Qualified applicants with personal experience navigating incarceration, re-entry, supervision, or the criminal justice system are strongly encouraged to apply . We are looking for individuals who are currently living stable lives, have demonstrated stability over the previous two years, and are able to meet applicable facility access and background requirements. Lived experience with substance use or recovery is not required for this position. Compensation This is a 1099 independent contractor position with expected earnings of approximately $500-$1,000 per week , depending on services provided, client participation, and overall engagement. Sagebrush already has established DOC programming and active participants , giving the person entering this role a strong starting point rather than requiring them to build a caseload entirely from the ground up. There are also opportunities to increase service volume through individual client support and continued caseload development . Because compensation varies with actual client engagement, this role is best suited for someone who is proactive, dependable, comfortable building relationships, and motivated to maintain consistent client participation.
