OVERVIEW
The most creative and sustainably-minded place you'll ever work Engaging with and leading volunteers Overseeing volunteer processes Recruiting and outreach activities $19.00/hour starting; $19.50/hour after 90 days + growth 34 hours/week including Saturdays (Wed-Sat 9:30 am - 6:00 pm) ReCraft Creative Reuse Center (@recraftgvl) connects creative people with reusable materials. As a 501c3 nonprofit, our mission is to promote artistic expression, environmental education, and community resourcefulness through creative reuse. In ReCraft's Greenville shop at 2439 Laurens Road, creative materials are generously donated by businesses and households, sorted by our fluffle of amazing volunteers, and sold back to the public at highly accessible prices. Our programming provides hands-on opportunities for the community to develop creative and sustainable thinking. Additionally, ReCraft is opening a smaller, second location in Greer. VOLUNTEER SCHEDULING
Coordinating volunteer shifts and updating digital calendar for both GVL & Greer locations. Managing and matching volunteer abilities, availability, and task compatibility Managing volunteer-focused duties, in coordination with fellow staff
VOLUNTEER LEADING
Greeting, orienting, and supporting volunteers during their time at ReCraft Setting the example and the pace for volunteers to accurately process donations Reviewing volunteer work and ensuring shared spaces are reset Leading groups of volunteers in event-style activities
VOLUNTEER OUTREACH
Building relationships with volunteers and encouraging recurring volunteers Recommending and sharing content to recruit and support volunteers
VOLUNTEER ACTIVITY DEVELOPMENT
Testing, documenting, and writing instructions for future activities Identifying and developing new volunteer tasks and processes Who We're Looking For VALUES Commitment to the arts, sustainability, and community empowerment
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Volunteer coordination, teaching, and/or coaching experience
REQUIRED
Bachelor's Degree PLUS:
Retailing knowledge / experience
PLUS:
Product knowledge / experience with creative materials & supplies SKILLS Team player and effective communicator Comfortable interacting with people of all types, backgrounds, and ages Technologically adept (Google Workspace, Trello, PC, United Way Portal) Organizational skills and able to manage self independently Flexible and responsive Able to work in a highly social environment Current shift hours are 9:30 am - 6:00 pm, Wednesday - Saturday with a 1 hour paid lunch. Ability to reliably be on time. Ability to work 34 hours weekly, including Saturdays. Ability to stand or walk for long periods, bend and crouch, and lift up to 25 pounds. We encourage employees to be current with DHEC-recommended vaccinations. This position reports to the Greenville location, with occasional shifts at the Greer location. $19.00/hour during 90-day training and evaluation period. Increase to $19.50/hour after 90 days. In keeping with our values, we'd like to provide more information about what you can expect to happen next: We will begin reviewing applicants on Monday, 9/14. Applicants will receive notice within 72 hours if their application is not progressing to the next round. We hope to offer preliminary phone interviews to 6-8 candidates 9/18, then in-person interviews to 3-4 candidates on Thursday 9/24, and an offer of employment to 1 person by 9/26. Before official employment begins the selected candidate will complete a paid trial day of shadowing with our Backstage Team, and pass a background check.
