Job Description

Overview We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Counselor to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience working with individuals with autism and developmental disabilities, providing support and guidance to enhance their quality of life. This role involves conducting diagnostic evaluations, offering addiction counseling, and implementing behavior management strategies. The Counselor will also have the opportunity to utilize creative therapies such as art therapy and Christian counseling to foster personal growth and healing. Responsibilities Conduct assessments and diagnostic evaluations to determine client needs and develop personalized treatment plans. Provide direct support to individuals with autism and developmental disabilities, ensuring their emotional and physical well-being. Facilitate individual and group counseling sessions, utilizing various therapeutic approaches including art therapy and addiction counseling. Implement behavior management techniques to help clients develop coping strategies and improve their social skills. Maintain accurate medical documentation of client progress, treatment plans, and any incidents that occur during sessions. Collaborate with families, caregivers, and other professionals to create a supportive network for clients. Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay current with best practices in counseling. Experience Proven experience working with individuals with autism or developmental disabilities is preferred. Familiarity with diagnostic evaluation techniques and addiction counseling practices is highly desirable. Skills in behavior management strategies are essential for success in this role. Experience in providing direct support services is a plus. Knowledge of art therapy techniques or Christian counseling approaches is beneficial but not mandatory. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are necessary for effective documentation and collaboration with clients and their families.
