Assists clients in dealing with personal and professional problems related to substance abuse. Collaborates with other health care and mental health care professionals to coordinate services for clients, and works with families of substance abusers. May work in a clinic, health care facility or community based program, or work with clients referred through the criminal justice system.

About us The Pittsburgh Recovery Center is founded on the belief that Alcoholism/Addiction Treatment must provide the participant with professional therapeutic insights AND lasting spiritual principles for the best chances at lifelong recovery. That is why the Pittsburgh Recovery Center focuses on providing our treatment participants with knowledgeable counselors who believe in the disease model of Alcoholism/Addiction and who deeply understand how principles found within 12-Step Programs are invaluable both in and out of the treatment center. Pittsburgh Recovery Center (PRC) Job Description - SUD Counselor This position provides counseling to the clients at PRC. A strong foundation of knowledge related to servicing adults with substance use and/or alcohol use disorders and a working knowledge of mental health. Counselors are required to complete 20 hours of yearly training related to the field & be trained or receive training on ASAM criteria.

Responsibilities:

1. Conduct individual, group, and family counseling sessions as well as all related paperwork to counseling sessions. 2. Create and maintain treatment plans with all clients in IOP and meet with each client 1x monthly (minimum) at 30-60 min. sessions. With PHP clients weekly sessions are required 3. Perform level of care assessments as needed through ASAM criteria 4. Perform urine screens and breathalyzers as needed. 5. Perform other tasks as are assigned by the program/clinical director. 6. Some evening shifts are required for this position.

Qualifications:

a) Bachelor's Degree in chemical dependency, psychology, social work or a degree in a related field b) Minimum of 1 year working in substance abuse or mental health c) Basic knowledge of treatment modalities (CBT, MI, Mindfulness etc.) d) Basic knowledge of 12 step recovery e)

CADC, Master's Degree Job Type:
