Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Step into a transformative role supporting students with special needs in a vibrant educational setting. This contract opportunity for Special Education Teachers offers the chance to make a measurable impact throughout the 2026-27 school year. Positions are for in-person educators only and begin on August 28, 2026, running through June 18, 2027, with a weekly commitment of 37.5 hours. The caseloads will be determined after internal postings and tailored conversations during the interview process to ensure a great fit.
Qualifications and Experience:
Valid state teaching certification for Special Education, meeting all current regulatory requirements Experience in K-12 special education settings preferred Comfort with adapting instruction and developing individualized education plans (IEPs) Strong communication skills to collaborate with families, colleagues, and support staff Demonstrated knowledge of current best practices in special education Commitment to maintaining an inclusive, supportive classroom environment Ability to work exclusively in person throughout the assignment
Responsibilities:
Plan, implement, and adjust individualized instructional programs for students with diverse abilities Develop and monitor IEPs, ensuring all educational requirements are met Track student progress and maintain accurate records as required by state and district guidelines Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to support student growth and achievement Foster an encouraging, safe, and engaging classroom atmosphere This assignment provides an engaging school community, meaningful daily interactions with students, and the satisfaction of shaping educational outcomes for learners with special needs.
