Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Make a meaningful impact as a Special Education Teacher in a supportive and collaborative high school environment. This full-time contract role is set in a classroom tailored for students requiring a self-contained, functional curriculum. You'll work alongside two dedicated paraprofessionals and a Registered Behavior Technician, ensuring a well-resourced and team-oriented experience. The assignment spans from August 4th, 2026, through May 26th, 2027, with the likelihood of extension into the following academic year for exceptional performers.
Key Qualifications:
Current SPED GaPSC Certification with Special Education content coverage through 8th grade Adapted Curriculum Endorsement District open to candidates with pending credentials Experience working in self-contained or lower-functioning special education classrooms preferred Strong communication, organizational skills, and ability to adapt instruction to meet diverse learning needs
Responsibilities Include:
Delivering specialized instruction within a functional curriculum, targeting life skills and academic growth Collaborating closely with paraprofessionals and a Registered Behavior Technician to provide consistent support Managing individualized education plans (IEPs), maintaining required records, and coordinating meetings with families and team members Creating a positive, structured environment that fosters student engagement, independence, and personal achievement Participating in pre/post planning days, if required, to ensure preparedness for the academic year Contribute your expertise in a classroom where your dedication truly matters.
