This contract opportunity for an in-person Special Education Teacher offers the chance to inspire growth and deliver high-quality support throughout the 2026-2027 academic year. Located near Waterbury, VT, this position provides a rewarding environment to collaborate with dedicated colleagues and help shape an inclusive, engaging educational community.
Skills & Experience Sought:
Active and valid Special Education Teacher certification meeting all state-mandated requirements Prior experience in a school-based special education setting strongly preferred Expertise in developing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) Strong communication abilities to connect with students, families, and staff Flexible and adaptable, willing to take on varying caseloads as determined post-internal placement Commitment to in-person instruction for the duration of the assignment
Responsibilities Include:
Designing and delivering specially tailored instruction to meet each student's unique needs Creating, monitoring, and updating IEPs in partnership with multidisciplinary teams and families Maintaining organized records and documentation in compliance with all state and federal regulations Applying data-driven strategies to support student progress and achievement Cultivating a positive, supportive classroom culture that encourages academic, social, and emotional growth Participating in staff meetings, training, and collaborative planning as needed This position offers a full 37.5-hour workweek in a welcoming educational setting. The exact caseload will be finalized after internal placements and discussed further during the interview process.
