Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Make a meaningful difference supporting elementary students as part of a dedicated onsite center-based program near Genoa, CO. This contract position offers the opportunity to work collaboratively with passionate educators and provide essential services for students who benefit from specialized instruction. Desired Qualifications:
Active Colorado Special Education Teacher license (required) Previous experience with elementary-aged students in both resource and self-contained settings preferred Strong understanding of IEP development, implementation, and compliance Excellent communication and problem-solving skills for working with students, parents, and interdisciplinary teams Adaptability and empathy in meeting diverse learning needs Commitment to creating a supportive, positive classroom climate
Key Responsibilities:
Design and deliver appropriate special education instruction to elementary students in a center-based classroom Develop, revise, and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) Collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, related service providers, and families Assess students' progress and adjust instructional strategies accordingly Manage classroom routines, behaviors, and data to promote student engagement and achievement Maintain accurate records in compliance with district and state requirements This role allows you to use your skills to create meaningful change in the lives of young learners and their families.
