Job Description

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. Embark on a rewarding contract role as a Special Education Teacher for a high school setting in the Dixon, CA area. This full-time opportunity runs from August 5th through the end of the school year, focusing on teaching students in a self-contained Special Day Class (SDC) environment. You will work with a mild to moderate caseload of up to 15 students in grades 9-12, providing them with the individualized support they need to thrive.
Qualifications and Experience:
Valid California Special Education Teaching Credential (Mild/Moderate) Experience teaching high school students with mild to moderate disabilities, preferably in a self-contained classroom Ability to deliver instruction in person Strong classroom management and organizational skills Commitment to fostering inclusion, growth, and achievement for all students Must provide a screenshot of current CTC credentials
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and deliver differentiated lesson plans tailored to each student's needs and IEP goals Implement effective classroom management strategies for a self-contained setting Collaborate closely with other educators, support staff, and families Track student progress and document according to school and state guidelines Foster a supportive and encouraging classroom culture for grades 9-12 Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the team approach of student services This contract position offers you the chance to make a positive impact in the lives of students, work alongside dedicated colleagues, and expand your experience in a supportive educational environment.
