Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Step into a vital role supporting high school students as a Long-Term Substitute Special Education Teacher for the beginning of the 2026/2027 school year through Thanksgiving. In this contract position, you'll work full-time Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, taking on a learning disabilities (LD) caseload at a welcoming high school near Stillwater, MN. This opportunity is ideal for educators who excel at fostering student growth and providing targeted intervention.
Key Qualifications:
Active Minnesota Special Education Teaching License Strongly prefer Learning Disabilities (LD) licensure Demonstrated experience supporting high school students in special education settings Background in reading intervention and executive functioning support Skilled in IEP implementation, progress monitoring, and providing academic accommodations
Preferred Experience:
Previous work with high school special education students Proven ability to assist students with executive functioning challenges Expertise in reading intervention strategies Adaptability to integrate quickly into established educational teams
Responsibilities:
Manage a caseload of students with learning disabilities Deliver targeted reading intervention and executive functioning instruction Implement and monitor Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) Provide ongoing special education instructional support in classroom settings Document student progress and communicate effectively with team members and families Contribute to a collaborative and supportive learning environment You'll be part of a dedicated educational community during a critical time in the academic year, making a direct impact on students' academic and personal development in a supportive, collegial environment.
