Job Description
Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Bring your passion and expertise in special education to a supportive elementary school environment for the 2026-2027 school year. We are seeking dedicated professionals with a strong commitment to individualized student learning to deliver meaningful support to students across elementary grade levels. Multiple openings are available for certified Special Education Teachers, with classroom caseloads in Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Developmental Cognitive Disabilities (DCD), and Emotional/Behavioral Disorders (EBD)—candidates may specify their preferred area of focus. Starting early September and running through early June, this full-time contract opportunity (Monday through Friday, 35 hours per week) promises a chance to make a profound impact on students' educational journeys in a vibrant, collaborative setting. Assignments will be onsite in the Lino Lakes and Columbus Elementary Schools, ensuring you're positioned to effectively serve diverse student needs in communities that value high-quality education.
Desired Qualifications:
Valid and active Minnesota Special Education teaching certification is required (please submit with your application). Demonstrated experience adapting and delivering individualized instruction to elementary students with varying abilities. Strong communication, organizational, and collaborative skills within multidisciplinary teams. Ability to establish a nurturing and motivating classroom environment, promoting positive student outcomes. Flexibility to work with ASD, DCD, or EBD caseloads, according to preference and expertise.Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement IEPs tailored to individual student needs and goals. Foster inclusivity and support academic, behavioral, and social growth. Effectively collaborate with fellow educators, support staff, and families. Maintain detailed records and report on student progress in accordance with state and district requirements.
