Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Staff Registered Nurse to join our dynamic healthcare team. Your expertise will support diverse patient populations, from acute care to long-term and community-based environments. Duties Perform comprehensive patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and detailed history-taking to inform diagnosis and treatment plans. Administer medications and injections accurately following prescribed protocols while maintaining strict aseptic technique standards. Manage complex medical procedures such as IV infusions, catheterizations, suturing, tube feedings, and ventilator support across various specialties including ICU, emergency medicine, and surgical units. Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems like Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks to document patient care activities thoroughly and efficiently. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop individualized care plans that incorporate pain management, behavioral health support, memory care strategies, and discharge planning. Conduct laboratory specimen collection and processing; interpret diagnostic evaluations such as ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10) for accurate documentation and billing purposes. Lead patient education initiatives on health coaching topics including medication administration, nutrition, infection control practices, and chronic disease management. Skills Extensive clinical experience in diverse healthcare environments such as hospital medicine, critical care units (ICU/Level I & II Trauma Centers), outpatient clinics, or long-term care facilities. Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems like Epic or Cerner for efficient medical documentation and patient records management. Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, pharmacology, and medical terminology essential for accurate patient assessment and diagnostic evaluation. Skilled in performing advanced procedures including cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), sterile processing techniques, ostomy care, sonography assistance, and infection control protocols. Experience working with special populations such as individuals with developmental disabilities, dementia or Alzheimer's disease care, pediatric patients (including neonatal ventilator management), or geriatric patients in memory or behavioral health settings. Ability to manage acute pain cases effectively while demonstrating excellent critical thinking skills in emergency room or trauma medicine scenarios. Familiarity with ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), CPT coding for procedures/services, laboratory testing procedures including phlebotomy and specimen processing. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality and compliance with healthcare privacy standards. Capable of performing physical examinations using aseptic techniques; conducting triage assessments in urgent care or emergency settings. Strong communication skills for educating patients and collaborating seamlessly within multidisciplinary teams across hospital or community-based environments.
