Job Description

Store Support Assistant at Defense Commissary Agency in Mountain Home, Idaho, United States Job Description Summary Store Support Assistant is located within a Defense Commissary Agency (DeCA) commissary. This is a dual-purpose position; performing administrative duties approximately 60% of the time, and performs the duties of a Store Associate approximately 40% of the time. The incumbent works independently or as part of a team and may be rotated throughout the store, performing duties in assigned departments as needed.
Responsibilities Administrative support:
prepare correspondence, maintain files, answer phones, handle payroll and DTS tasks.
Personnel processing:
assist with RPAs, in-process new hires, coordinate with HR. Workers' compensation and benefits support: review forms, maintain COP logs, provide basic benefits info.
Supply and property management:
track equipment, place supply orders, support inventories, prepare reports.
Store operations:
cashiering, stocking, merchandising, inventory control, curbside pickup. Customer service and contractor monitoring. Support store safety, sanitation, and security procedures. Experience:
One (1) year of demonstrated knowledge of retail procurement and distribution methods; principles, procedures, and techniques of retail food merchandising and retail food store management; and developments in commercial retail food store items, equipment, and practices (specialized experience) equivalent to at least the GS-4 grade level. Experience can be under other Federal service pay systems, private sector, or military.
Examples of qualifying experience include:
Performed payroll, DTS, correspondence, filing, and personnel support tasks. Maintained supply and property records and processed procurement and disposition actions.
