We offer comprehensive, person-centered services for individuals with substance use disorders (SUD), mental health conditions, and intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) . Our wide range of programs includes case management, therapy, transportation, skill-building, and more , all designed to promote independence, recovery, and well-being . Our team is dedicated to empowering individuals through compassionate, high-quality care tailored to their unique needs . Position Overview The Substance Use Disorder (SUD) Counselor provides assessment, counseling, and support services to individuals experiencing substance use disorders . This role is responsible for developing and implementing treatment plans, facilitating individual and group counseling sessions, and coordinating care with other service providers . The SUD Counselor plays a crucial role in helping clients achieve and maintain recovery by providing evidence-based interventions, support, and advocacy . Key Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive assessments to determine substance use history, treatment needs, and recovery goals. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans focused on achieving and maintaining recovery. Provide individual and group counseling using evidence-based treatment approaches. Educate clients on substance use, coping strategies, relapse prevention, and recovery resources . Collaborate with medical professionals, case managers, peer support specialists, and community resources to support holistic treatment. Monitor and document client progress, interventions, and treatment adjustments . Ensure compliance with federal, state, and agency regulations related to substance use treatment. Provide crisis intervention and support as needed. Assist clients with linkages to social services, housing, employment, and community support programs . Advocate for client rights and access to appropriate treatment services . Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in compliance with agency and licensing standards. Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor. Required Skills & Qualifications Bachelor's or Master's degree in Human Services (Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or a related field). Master's degree holders must have LLMSW, LMSW, LLPC, or LPC licensure. Must possess one of the following credentials : CADC (Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor) CAADC (Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor) MCBAP Development Plan (or willingness to obtain within 30 days of hire). Experience in substance use counseling, behavioral health, or case management preferred. Strong counseling, motivational interviewing, and crisis intervention skills . Knowledge of SUD treatment modalities, trauma-informed care, and harm reduction approaches . Excellent communication, problem-solving, and documentation skills . Ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team . Valid driver's license and reliable transportation preferred.
