Job Description

Category Nursing - ORT Job Type Contract Take your experience as a certified Surgical Technologist or ORT to a leading, high-acuity hospital renowned for its Level I Trauma designation and Magnet status. This contract position supports a busy operating room handling a diverse array of surgical cases including general, transplant, minimally invasive/laparoscopic procedures, robotics, neuro, ortho trauma, and plastics/reconstruction (deep flap, head/neck free flaps, microsurgery). You'll work alongside skilled teams, contribute to cases with cutting-edge technology like DaVinci XI robot, and experience a high volume environment averaging 70-100 cases per day.
Schedule/Hours:
12-hour day shifts, 07:00-19:00 (36 hours/week) 1900-2300 late call once per week Weekend call every 6-8 weeks (0600 Saturday to 0600 Monday, 1 hour response time) 50% holiday coverage during contract No floating required
Qualifications:
Minimum 2 years' experience in a Level I or II Trauma Center (Level III or below not accepted) Graduate of an accredited surgical tech program; CST certification highly preferred Current BLS certification Proficient with ortho trauma, neuro, head/neck reconstructive, and microsurgery cases Experience with EPIC, Omnicell, and Alaris preferred Cannot reside within 50 miles of the facility Not open to first-time travelers
Key Responsibilities:
Scrub on a broad range of complex surgical procedures Maintain strict adherence to aseptic technique Collaborate with surgeons, RNs, anesthesia, and support staff for optimal patient outcomes Support emergency and trauma cases with rapid response and precision
