Job Description

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Deaf Education, active DHH teaching certification, and 1+ years Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. Step into a meaningful role supporting student learning and growth as a Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing. This contract opportunity is designed for professionals passionate about fostering communication access and educational success for students in both elementary and high school settings. With a flexible, part-time schedule—just one day per week—you'll make a significant impact across a manageable caseload of three students (two high school and one elementary). In this position, you will: Deliver direct and consultative instructional support tailored to each student's needs as outlined in their IEPs Promote inclusive communication by addressing auditory, visual, and language access Partner closely with general education teachers and school-based support staff to integrate effective strategies into daily classroom routines Adapt educational materials and approaches to suit diverse learning profiles Keep comprehensive documentation and progress reports to track student growth and inform ongoing support To excel in this role, candidates should possess: A valid Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing certification/licensure (must meet state-specific requirements) Experience working with students at both the elementary and high school levels is preferred Strong collaboration and problem-solving skills Ability to work independently and communicate effectively with school staff This position offers the unique chance to make a difference for students who rely on specialized instructional support—while maintaining exceptional work-life balance with a part-time, flexible schedule.
