Technician

Transdev in Olean, NY is seeking an A, B or C-Level Diesel Mechanic to bolster our team. This role demands expertise in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel engines across various vehicles and equipment. As a Diesel Mechanic, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring safety, efficiency, and longevity for our vehicles.

Vacation:

1 week at 1 year of full time employment, 2 weeks at 2 years, 3 weeks and 5 years and 4 weeks at 10 years.

Paid Sick Leave:

Based on NYS Law; medical, dental & vision after 90 calendar days of employment for full-time employees, life insurance, 401k retirement benefits, and company holidays. Company paid ASE testing, training materials, and tool, show and safety glasses reimbursement. A technician must become master certified in one of the primary categories before they are eligible for pay increases on a secondary set of ASE tests. (Transit, Heavy truck, or automotive for tec c only) You will receive $0.15 /hour premium per primary ASE test passed in the technician's chosen category. $0.20 per hour master certified premium once all tests in the technician's chosen category have been passed. Once Master Certified the tech will receive $0.25 per hour premium on all other ASE tests that have been passed.(Certifications that are allowed to expire will result in loss of premiums.)

Key Responsibilities:

Perform repairs and replacements on diesel engines, ensuring optimal functionality. Assist A-Level and B-Level Mechanics in advanced diagnostic and repair tasks, contributing to efficient workflow. Execute routine maintenance tasks to prevent breakdowns and optimize diesel engine performance. Lead diagnostic tests to accurately identify complex issues and determine comprehensive repair strategies for diesel engines. Perform advanced troubleshooting and repair tasks on diesel engines, including overhauling and rebuilding components to required specifications. Other duties as required.

Qualifications:

1 years of experience as a Diesel Mechanic. ASE certifications required; ASE certification program provided Mechanic's Tool Set CDL B with appropriate endorsements. Subject to a DOT drug testing and physical if applicable. DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 does not authorize the use of Schedule I drugs, including cannabis, for any reason.

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to work shifts or flexible work schedules as needed. The employee is generally subjected to long periods spent sitting, typing, or looking at a computer screen.
