Business Intelligence Developer
Job Description
The candidate will develop and maintain reports and dashboards for the Maryland State Police utilizing tools such as Tableau Desktop and Tableau Prep. They will follow MDSP's standard operating procedures.
Duties:
Gather requirements for reporting. Follow the agency Center of Excellence procedures for projects. Develop and maintain data models consistent with agency requirements and needs. Develop and maintain data visualizations and dashboards. Develop and maintain detailed documentation of developed solutions and instructional procedures. Attendance at MSP ITO meetings (as required). Regular status reporting of assigned tasks to MSP supervisor. After-hours support (as required). Other duties as assigned.Education:
This position requires a bachelor's or master's degree from an accredited college or university with a major in computer science, statistics, mathematics, economics, or related field. (Three (3) years of equivalent experience in a related field may be substituted for the Bachelor's degree).General Experience:
The proposed candidate must have a minimum of three (3) years of experience as a BI Developer.Specialized Experience:
The candidate should have experience as a BI developer or similar role with a strong understanding of data modeling and ETL processes. The candidate should be proficient in SQL and experience with BI tools/software. They should possess a strong understanding of data warehouse, data lakehouse, and data mart concepts. At least one (1) year of experience, creating SQL queries At least one ( l) year of experience with Tableau Desktop At least one (I) year of experience using Tableau Server At least one (I) year of experience usingTableau Prep Preferred:
