Responsibilities Design, develop, and support PLC, HMI, and SCADA applications for municipal water and wastewater treatment facilities, pump stations, and related infrastructure. Program and configure industrial control systems using platforms such as Rockwell Automation/Allen-Bradley, Ignition, Wonderware, FactoryTalk, and other industry-standard technologies. Develop HMI graphics, operator interfaces, alarms, trends, and reporting systems that improve plant visibility and operational efficiency. Configure and troubleshoot SCADA systems, communication networks, and field devices. Perform system testing, factory acceptance testing (FAT), site acceptance testing (SAT), and commissioning activities. Assist with startup and implementation of control systems at client facilities. Troubleshoot PLC, HMI, SCADA, instrumentation, and network issues both remotely and on-site. Collaborate with engineers, project managers, operators, and technicians throughout project execution. Prepare technical documentation including control narratives, I/O lists, functional descriptions, and programming standards. Provide training and support to end users following project implementation. Travel to project sites as needed for commissioning, startup, and client support. Qualifications 3+ years of experience programming industrial automation and control systems. Hands-on experience with PLC programming, HMI development, and SCADA systems. Experience with Allen-Bradley/Rockwell, Ignition, FactoryTalk, Wonderware, Siemens, or similar automation platforms. Strong understanding of industrial communication protocols including Ethernet/IP, Modbus TCP/IP, DNP3, OPC, and related networking technologies. Experience supporting water/wastewater, utilities, manufacturing, or other industrial automation environments. Ability to troubleshoot control systems, instrumentation, and communication networks in both office and field environments. Familiarity with databases, SQL, reporting tools, and data collection platforms is a plus. Understanding of electrical control systems, instrumentation, and process control principles. Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently while managing multiple projects. Willingness to travel for project commissioning, startup support, and client meetings. Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Automation, or a related technical field preferred, but equivalent industry experience will be considered.
