Position Summary The position of Robotic Operator/Programmer includes but is not limited to the operation, programming, troubleshooting of welding robotics to fulfill production requirements, knowledge of welding parameters, and ability to build and modify jigs & fixtures with little supervision. The ideal candidate will have 2+ years of experience programming, operating, and troubleshooting welding robots and have the ability to educate, train, and oversee robotic operators on a day-to-day basis. • Operate, program, and troubleshoot welding robots to fulfill production requirements
• Understand basics of welding to ensure the end product is of high quality
• Have knowledge of welding parameters
• Ability to build and modify jigs & fixtures
• Read and interpret shop drawings and blueprints
• Educate, train, and oversee robotic operators on a day-to-day basis
• Be physically able to place parts and remove parts from jigs/fixtures Read and interpret blueprints or welding process specifications.

Operate manual or semi-automatic welding/cutting equipment such as GMAW and SMAW welding, plasma cutting and oxy-acetylene cutting Operate metal shaping machines such as metal straightening and bending machines. Conduct repairs, modifications, and retrofits Monitor parts usage and report on any material issues Work in compliance with the provisions of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and PakFab policies Other assigned work as required Requirements 2+ years of experience operating, programming, and troubleshooting welding robots (required) Ability to work in a fast-paced production shop Ability to read and interpret blueprints, welding process specifications, and welding parameters Proven ability to build and modify jigs & fixtures Preferably possess a valid driver's license Experience with routine maintenance operations Highly flexible, with solid interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse working environment Strong attention to detail Ability to work independently in a busy environment Strong work ethic and positive team attitude Able to effectively communicate verbally Able to work well under pressure Able to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally at all times Familiar with weld processes and deficiencies Work Conditions Physical ability to lift up to 50lbs Travel to off-site locations may be required Safety equipment will be required, e.g. CSA approved steel-toed safety boots, weld helmet, etc. Overtime as required Hazards associated with the trade Work both indoors and outdoors Why Join Us?
