Job Description
Help Desk Specialist We are seeking a Help Desk Specialist - Regional Support to provide first‑level IT support to end users while also serving as the onsite deskside support presence for a small regional office in Omaha. This role is 100% Service Desk focused and supports approximately 20-30 onsite users. The Help Desk Specialist will be responsible for delivering a consistent, high‑quality user experience through timely incident resolution, clear communication, and hands‑on local support when needed. This role requires strong customer service skills, solid technical troubleshooting ability, and close collaboration with internal IT teams. Key Responsibilities + Serve as the primary point of contact for end‑user IT support via phone, email, and ticketing system + Respond to and resolve incidents and service requests related to hardware, software, applications, and access issues + Accurately log, document, and manage tickets in the IT Service Management tool (e.g., ServiceNow) + Diagnose issues by gathering detailed information, asking clarifying questions, and following established troubleshooting procedures + Resolve issues using knowledge base articles and documented processes + Escalate incidents to higher‑level support teams when necessary, following defined escalation procedures + Adhere to established Service Level Agreements (SLAs) for response and resolution times + Notify appropriate teams of critical incidents as needed + Provide regular updates to users until issues are fully resolved + Contribute to knowledge base documentation and continuous improvement efforts + Identify recurring issues and communicate trends or concerns to leadership + Maintain a high level of professionalism and customer service in all interactions Top Skills + Help Desk / Service Desk Support + Technical Troubleshooting + Customer Service & Phone Support + Windows 10 + ServiceNow or similar ticketing system + Office 365 + Active Directory (password resets, account access) + VPN support Additional Skills & Qualifications (Preferred) + Some hands‑on deskside or field support experience + Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field + IT certifications such as A+, Network+, Security+, Microsoft certifications, or similar Work Environment & Physical Requirements + Primarily office‑based with occasional deskside support + Ability to lift and/or move IT equipment such as desktops, monitors, and printers as needed Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Omaha, NE. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $25.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
