Onsite Position ## Your Responsibilities As a Display Systems Engineer for John Deere's Construction & Forestry (C&F) division in Dubuque, IA you will:- Define and document display system requirements, user workflows, and functional specifications to support customer and product needs
- Develop and maintain subsystem requirements, interface definitions, and technical documentation for vehicle display systems
- Coordinate integration of displays with controllers, sensors, diagnostics, telematics, and other machine systems
- Support system verification and validation activities, including test planning, issue investigation, and requirements traceability
- Collaborate with software, product design, vehicle, and validation teams to deliver integrated display solutions VISA Sponsorship is NOT available for this position ## What Skills You Need
- Understanding of systems engineering principles, including requirements development, requirements traceability, and system validation
- Ability to define user workflows and functional requirements with a focus on operator experience and machine usability
- Knowledge of vehicle communication networks and diagnostics, including
CAN/J1939
protocols- Demonstrated problem-solving skills to investigate issues, evaluate alternatives, and support system integration activities
- Effective communication and collaboration skills to work across software, vehicle, controls, validation, and product engineering teams
- Ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally, up to 10% ## What Makes You Stand Out
- Hands-on experience defining user workflows, interfaces, or system requirements through internships, design projects, or engineering teams
- Demonstrated understanding of human-machine interaction and a passion for improving operator experience through intuitive display designs
- Experience working with vehicle electronics, controllers, sensors, diagnostics, or CAN-based communication networks
- Experience with embedded Linux, Qt/QML, graphics frameworks, or display application development
- CAN, USB, Ethernet, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth communications experience
- Ability to bridge technical and non-technical perspectives by effectively collaborating across software, vehicle, validation, and product teams
- Experience with technology solutions used in the construction industry, such as grade control and GNSS, telematics, etc.
- Familiarity with operating Construction, Forestry, or Ag off-road equipment ## Education Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:
