Job Description We are seeking an Embedded Systems Expert with deep expertise in DO-178C and avionics software development to lead the architecture and execution of safety-critical airborne systems. The ideal candidate will be capable of architecting a system from concept through certification, with extensive experience in Real-Time Embedded Systems (RTES) and Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS) environments. This individual will provide technical leadership across the entire product lifecycle, including requirements development, architecture, implementation, integration, verification, validation, and certification.
Location:
The role can be onsite (CT), hybrid, or fully remote. Responsibilities Architect end-to-end avionics software systems from concept through certification. Collaborate across systems, hardware, software, verification, and certification teams. Lead development of safety-critical embedded software in compliance with DO-178C. Support certification audits and regulatory compliance activities. Support definition and allocation of system-level and software requirements. Design and implement solutions for RTES and RTOS-based platforms. Conduct architecture reviews, technical assessments, and trade studies. Drive requirements traceability, verification planning, and validation activities. Mentor engineering teams and provide technical leadership. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Aerospace Engineering, or related discipline. Strong experience in embedded software development. Extensive hands-on 12+ years of experience with DO-178C certification programs.
Strong understanding of:
Real-Time Embedded Systems (RTES) Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS) Safety-critical software development Systems engineering processes Excellent communication and technical leadership skills. U.S. citizenship is required. Dual citizenship should be disclosed. Able to travel approximately two to six weeks in a year.
