08/15/2025 Position Summary Glass City IT is seeking a System Engineer to join our team in delivering secure, scalable IT infrastructure solutions for our diverse client base. This role requires strong technical skills in systems administration, deployment, and support. The Systems Engineer will collaborate with senior engineers, vendors, and clients to implement reliable solutions, maintain system performance, and ensure environments are secure and compliant. This position is ideal for a professional with several years of systems engineering or administration experience who is ready to take on more responsibility in project execution and client engagement. Key Responsibilities System Implementation & Deployment Set up, configure, and troubleshoot desktops, laptops, mobile devices, and peripherals. Provide support for Microsoft 365, email, collaboration tools, and standard business applications. Configure, deploy, and integrate servers, virtualization platforms, and cloud solutions (Microsoft 365, Azure). Support system migrations, upgrades, and infrastructure improvements. Performance Monitoring & Support Monitor system performance, identify issues, and troubleshoot to resolution. Provide Tier 1/Tier 2 escalation support for client environments. Security & Compliance Apply security best practices, perform patching, and assist in vulnerability remediation. Support compliance efforts (CJIS, HIPAA, NIST, or client-specific frameworks). Backup & Disaster Recovery Implement and maintain backup and recovery solutions. Assist in disaster recovery testing and documentation. Client & Vendor Collaboration Work directly with clients to understand requirements and implement solutions. Coordinate with vendors for hardware/software support and licensing. Documentation & Reporting Maintain accurate technical documentation, system diagrams, and operational procedures. Provide input into project plans and technical recommendations. Qualifications Required 3-5 years of hands-on experience in systems engineering, system administration, or IT infrastructure roles. Proficiency with Microsoft Server OS, Active Directory, Office 365, and virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V, Proxmox, Nutanix). Experience with networking fundamentals, firewalls, and enterprise storage (SAN/NAS). Knowledge of backup solutions and patch management. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Effective communication skills (written and verbal). Must reside within 75 miles of Toledo, Ohio. Preferred Industry certifications such as MCSA/MCSE, VMware VCP, Veeam, or Azure certifications. Experience in a managed services or consulting environment. Familiarity with compliance-driven environments (government, legal, or healthcare). Benefits Competitive salary based on experience.
