•$160,000 to $230,000 per year

•Starting salary is based on minimum education and years of experience and increases based on education and/or experience. Join WOOD Federal Solutions as an Information Systems Security Engineer (ISSE) supporting a large, complex, geographically distributed mission environment. This role is ideal for an experienced security engineer who can work across system architecture, risk management, compliance, vulnerability assessment, and secure design while collaborating closely with engineering, integration, testing, and program teams. You will help shape and validate security requirements for large-scale systems, assess threats and risks throughout the system lifecycle, evaluate security architectures and controls, and recommend technical solutions that strengthen the overall security posture. The work includes supporting RMF activities, security planning and assessment, continuous monitoring, configuration review, vulnerability analysis, security verification testing, and the development and enforcement of security policies, standards, and methodologies. This position offers the opportunity to operate as a trusted security subject matter expert across multiple technical domains. You will work with system engineers, developers, testers, program leadership, and customer stakeholders to identify and remediate security issues, assess the impact of new capabilities, evaluate secure configurations, and ensure evolving systems continue to meet mission and compliance requirements. The ideal candidate brings deep experience in security architecture, RMF, vulnerability testing, secure system design, risk assessment, and information assurance, along with the judgment and communication skills needed to explain technical tradeoffs and influence decisions in a fast-moving, high-assurance environment.

Security Clearance Requirements:

This position requires candidates to be U.S. Citizens and possess a TS/SCI Security Clearance with an appropriate Polygraph. Responsibilities The selected candidate will have numerous responsibilities from day to day drawn from a wide array of activities. The strongest candidates will have experience working in these areas:



Validating and verifying system security requirements and establishing system security designs for large-scale systems, major system elements, and interfacing systems that are part of a large complex network environment with geographically distributed components.



Identifying and implementing appropriate information security architectures and functionality to ensure uniform application of security policy and enterprise solutions.



Recommending and developing technical solutions, products, and standards based on current and desired system security architecture.



Assessing and mitigating system security threats and risks throughout the program life cycle.



Leading and/or contributing to the security planning, assessment, risk analysis, risk management, certification and awareness activities for various system and networking operations.



Effectively collaborating with other internal technical experts on a day-to-day basis.
