Director of IT, Enterprise Architecture Dayton, OH What You'll Do:

Relate Search has partnered with a global organization focused on developing innovative products and solutions that enhance workforce safety in their search for a Director of IT, Enterprise Architecture. This strategic leader will partner with executive, business, and IT leadership to evaluate emerging technologies, develop future-state architecture and technology roadmaps, and guide decisions around scalability, risk, investment, and long-term sustainability. A significant focus of the role will be advancing the organization's enterprise AI strategy-from identifying practical, high-value use cases to establishing responsible governance and helping teams confidently adopt AI-enabled capabilities. This is an opportunity to bring an enterprise-wide perspective to technology strategy while helping simplify the technology landscape, strengthen architecture discipline, and turn emerging technology into meaningful business value.

Responsibilities:

Shape enterprise technology strategy and future-state architecture by partnering with executive, business, and IT leaders to align technology investments, roadmaps, and capabilities with strategic objectives. Lead enterprise architecture analysis and planning across applications, data, integrations, infrastructure, security, and emerging technologies, identifying opportunities to simplify the technology landscape, reduce technical debt, and improve long-term scalability. Drive the organization's enterprise AI strategy by identifying high-value opportunities, developing practical governance and guardrails, and guiding the responsible adoption of generative AI, automation, and intelligent business capabilities. Advise business and technology leaders on strategic initiatives and technology investments, evaluating options, risks, costs, architectural tradeoffs, dependencies, and long-term business value. Build strong partnerships across IT and the business while advancing architecture standards, technology roadmaps, investment recommendations, and enterprise-level decision-making through influence and collaboration.

Qualifications:

7+ years of progressive experience in information technology, enterprise architecture, technology strategy, or a related discipline, with demonstrated experience influencing enterprise-level technology decisions. Strong experience developing enterprise architecture models, capability maps, technology roadmaps, standards, governance frameworks, and future-state architecture, with a broad understanding of applications, integration, infrastructure, security, data, and cloud technologies. Demonstrated knowledge of artificial intelligence, generative AI, AI governance, and responsible AI practices, with the ability to translate emerging technology into practical business opportunities. Strong business acumen and experience evaluating technology investments, business cases, risks, costs, and architectural tradeoffs across complex, cross-functional initiatives. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or a related discipline; manufacturing experience and exposure to ERP ecosystems, particularly Oracle, preferred.
