12 -18 Months Contract About the Role We are hiring an Oracle PL/SQL Developer to join our client on a contract basis. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with one of the most innovative Banking and Financial companies in the U.S. Key Responsibilities 1. Core Database Programming
Advanced PL/SQL:
Deep expertise in writing robust database logic using stored procedures, functions, packages, database triggers, and user-defined types.
Bulk Data Processing:
Strong proficiency in using high-performance PL/SQL features like BULK COLLECT, FORALL, and collections to handle large-scale data manipulation.
Relational Database Design:
Hands-on experience with schema design, table structures, constraints, views, and data normalization/denormalization principles (primarily in Oracle Database environments).
2. Performance Tuning & Optimization
Query Tuning:
Expert-level capability in writing and optimizing complex, high-performance SQL queries.
Execution Analysis:
Practical experience analyzing execution plans (Explain Plan, DBMS_XPLAN) and using database profiling tools (TKPROF, SQL Trace) to locate and fix bottlenecks.
Indexing & Partitioning:
Mastery of indexing strategies (B-Tree, Bitmap, Function-Based) and table partitioning to manage massive datasets efficiently.
3. Data Integration & Tools
ETL & Migrations:
Strong understanding of Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) concepts, data pipelines, and writing scripts for complex data migrations.
Developer Tooling:
Proficiency with industry-standard development environments such as SQL Developer, TOAD, or PL/SQL Developer.
Version Control:
Experience managing database scripts and schema changes in version control systems (e.g., Git).
4. Collaboration & Soft Skills
App Integration:
Ability to collaborate closely with Java, Python, or front-end developers to design efficient application-to-database interfaces.
Analytical Problem-Solving:
A logical mindset with the ability to debug complex relational data anomalies and legacy system code.
Compensation Hourly Rate:
$62 - $65 per hour This range reflects base compensation and may vary based on location, market conditions, experience, and candidate qualifications.
