Position Summary We are seeking an experienced, hands-on Data Center Fiber Supervisor / Manager to lead fiber installation and splicing operations on large-scale AI, hyperscale, and mission-critical data center projects. This salaried leadership role manages fiber splicers, fiber pulling crews, cable installation technicians, and subcontractors while maintaining strict safety, quality, production, schedule, and turnover-documentation standards. The successful candidate must have proven experience with high-density ribbon fiber systems, including cable counts up to 6,912 fibers , and must be capable of directing operations using 12-count and 16-count ribbon fusion splicers . Core Responsibilities Lead daily operations for fiber splicers, fiber pullers, cable technicians, labor crews, foremen, and subcontractors. Plan and oversee installation of high-density fiber backbone systems, including ribbon fiber cables up to 6,912-count. Manage fiber pulling, pathway preparation, innerduct installation, cable placement, slack storage, dressing, labeling, termination, and protection of fiber infrastructure. Supervise ribbon-fiber preparation, mass fusion splicing, splice-tray loading, enclosure work, fiber routing, restoration, and troubleshooting. Direct and verify use of 12-count and 16-count ribbon fusion splicers, including proper fiber preparation, ribbon alignment, splice protection, tray organization, and quality control. Review splice plans, fiber matrices, cable schedules, routing drawings, rack elevations, and construction documents before work begins. Coordinate OTDR, OLTS, insertion-loss, continuity, polarity, and end-face inspection testing; review test results and ensure compliance with project loss budgets and client acceptance requirements. Troubleshoot failed splices, high-loss events, damaged fibers, incorrect fiber mapping, polarity issues, labeling errors, and pathway conflicts. Coordinate work with the general contractor, owner representatives, network teams, electrical, mechanical, security, fire protection, controls, and commissioning teams. Build and manage short-interval plans, daily work assignments, manpower forecasts, equipment needs, material needs, and production targets. Conduct daily safety meetings, pre-task plans, job-hazard analyses, quality inspections, and housekeeping walks. Maintain accurate pull logs, splice logs, test records, redlines, as-builts, material records, daily reports, punch-list records, and turnover packages. Escalate schedule, material, labor, quality, safety, and access constraints early and propose practical recovery plans. Train and mentor technicians and crew leads on high-density ribbon fiber, mass fusion practices, testing standards, documentation, and data-center workmanship expectations. Required Experience and Qualifications 7+ years of fiber-optic construction, installation, splicing, and testing experience. 3+ years in a supervisory, foreman, superintendent, or field-management role. Demonstrated experience with high-density ribbon fiber cable systems up to 6,912-count . Proven operational experience with 12-count and 16-count ribbon fusion splicers . Experience supervising mass-fusion splicing crews and maintaining production and quality standards on high-volume fiber builds.

Ribbon fiber preparation, mass fusion splicing, splice protection, splice tray management, and enclosure work Single-mode fiber systems and high-density backbone deployments Fiber pulling methods, pulling tension, bend radius, cable handling, cable routing, innerduct, conduit, and tray systems OTDR, OLTS, insertion-loss testing, continuity testing, polarity validation, and end-face inspection MTP/MPO, LC, patch panels, fiber distribution panels, splice closures, and fiber-management systems Cable labeling, fiber mapping, test-result review, redlines, as-builts, and turnover packages Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, fiber matrices, splice diagrams, cable schedules, rack elevations, and specifications. Strong field leadership, communication, problem-solving, scheduling, and subcontractor-management skills. Experience in active construction environments; data center, mission-critical, telecom, or large infrastructure experience preferred. OSHA 30 preferred; BICSI, FOA, manufacturer fusion-splicer training, and lift/forklift certifications are a plus. Ability to work extended hours, night shifts, weekends, and travel when required by project schedules. Spanish speaking also preferred.

Pay:

$95,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
