Insight Global is seeking a Windows Automation / Release Engineer for a top enterprise client. This role will focus on supporting large-scale automated software deployments and patching across Windows-based systems in a fast-paced environment with frequent release cycles. The ideal candidate will collaborate across SRE , database, and engineering teams to develop, test, and troubleshoot automation solutions that ensure efficient and reliable system updates. This is a great opportunity for someone with strong scripting experience and a passion for automation to make an impact in a highly scalable enterprise environment.
Day-to-Day:
  • Support and enhance automated software deployment and patching solutions across Windows systems
  • Assist in the development, testing, and troubleshooting of deployment tools and scripts
  • Coordinate with SRE , database support, and engineering teams to support release cycles
  • Execute and support software installations, uninstallations, updates, and patching
  • Ensure smooth deployments across non-production and production environments
  • Troubleshoot issues related to software releases and automation processes
  • Maintain and improve release schedules and deployment pipelines

Skills and Requirements Must-Haves:
  • Strong experience with Windows-based systems
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft SQL Server
  • Advanced PowerShell scripting skills
  • Experience supporting automated software release and patching solutions
  • Experience working in large-scale enterprise environments with rapid release cycles
  • Strong troubleshooting and testing experience for software deployments
Plusses:
  • Experience with Ansible Automation
  • Familiarity with JIRA
  • Experience with Tableau
  • Knowledge of ServiceNow or BMC Remedy
  • Experience with change control and release management processes
