Wireless Network Engineer ThinkTek LLC $100,000.00 - $115,000.00 / yr vision insurance United States, Virginia, Washington Aug 31, 2026 Wireless Network Engineer Who We Are ThinkTek LLC is a fast-growing Certified SBA 8(a) and Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) specializing in management and technology consulting for Federal Government modernization. We provide tailored solutions in Program & Project Management, Strategic Planning, and IT Operations. Position Description ThinkTek is seeking a Wireless Network Engineer to support a Department of War client in the National Capital Region. This role supports a large enterprise wireless environment built on HPE Aruba Networking infrastructure, centered on a facility-wide access point life cycle replacement. The position suits an engineer early in their career who has foundational wireless and networking skills and wants to build depth quickly, working alongside senior engineers and taking on progressively broader responsibility. Responsibilities Support engineering and sustainment of Aruba wireless infrastructure, including mobility controllers and conductors, access points, and AirWave
Support access point life cycle replacement, including staging configuration, integration, cutover, and validation
Coordinate with installation crews replacing access points and cabling, and verify results
Support change management and authorized service interruption planning with Government operations staff
Support troubleshooting and escalation of wireless faults under the direction of senior engineers, using client session analysis, controller diagnostics, and targeted site surveys
Support ClearPass configuration and 802.1X authentication activities
Support cybersecurity compliance, including STIG application, vulnerability remediation, and configuration hardening
Produce configuration standards, network diagrams, integration and test plans, and as-built records Required Qualifications Active Secret security clearance
Approximately 3 to 5 years of network engineering experience, including hands-on work with enterprise wireless infrastructure
Exposure to enterprise wireless platforms such as Aruba, Cisco, or comparable, covering access points, controllers, and management systems
Working knowledge of routing and switching fundamentals, including VLANs, trunking, spanning tree, and subnetting
Foundational understanding of network integration, including secure transport and how systems connect across enclaves
Solid troubleshooting fundamentals across the wireless and wired stack
Ability to produce clear technical documentation Desired Qualifications Current SCI access eligibility or active TS/SCI
Prior support to DISA, Joint Service Provider, or other DoD enterprise networks
Hands-on ArubaOS experience, including mobility controllers, ClearPass, or AirWave
Experience with site surveys or RF analysis, including tools such as Ekahau
CWNA, or vendor certification such as Aruba ACMA or Cisco CCNA
DoD 8140 IAT Level II or higher, such as Security+ CE
Familiarity with
RMF, ATO
processes, or
DISA STIG
compliance
Familiarity with the NSA Commercial Solutions for Classified (CSfC) program
Experience working in secure or classified facilities The anticipated annual salary range for this position is $100,030 - $115,020. This range is a good-faith estimate and not a guarantee of compensation. Final compensation will be based on factors including experience, education, skills, geographic location, internal equity, market data, and applicable contract requirements, and may fall outside the posted range.
