Job Description

Description We are seeking a hands-on Senior IT Systems Engineer to support and scale technology operations within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This position will play a key role in standing up new production areas, supporting critical infrastructure, enhancing end-user services, and driving automation initiatives across the organization. The ideal candidate combines strong systems administration experience with a passion for solving complex technical challenges, improving operational efficiency, and supporting modern identity, cloud, and endpoint management platforms. Key Responsibilities Manufacturing & Infrastructure Deployment

+ Lead the IT setup and deployment of new manufacturing and operational spaces.

+ Install, configure, and support network infrastructure, servers, workstations, and production-floor technology.

+ Provision user identities, endpoint devices, access controls, and supporting systems for new facilities and production teams.

+ Deliver accurate documentation, operational procedures, and support materials to local site teams. Platform & Systems Administration

+ Manage and support core enterprise platforms including identity management, productivity suites, collaboration tools, endpoint management solutions, and service management systems.

+ Configure and maintain Single Sign-On (SSO), user provisioning workflows, lifecycle management processes, and access governance controls.

+ Ensure systems remain secure, scalable, and aligned with business growth objectives.

+ Develop and maintain monitoring solutions to improve visibility, performance, and service reliability. Incident Response & Operational Support

+ Serve as a primary escalation point for infrastructure and platform-related incidents.

+ Perform root cause analysis and coordinate resolution efforts across networking, infrastructure, security, and application teams.

+ Lead post-incident reviews and implement preventative measures to minimize recurring issues.

+ Support production operations by maintaining high system availability and responsiveness. Automation & AI Enablement

+ Design and implement automation solutions that reduce manual effort and improve service delivery.

+ Develop scripts, integrations, and workflows using APIs to streamline IT operations.

+ Build and enhance internal tools that improve service desk performance, technician productivity, and user self-service capabilities.

+ Explore and implement AI-driven solutions such as virtual assistants, automated support workflows, and knowledge management enhancements. Security & Compliance

+ Partner with Security, Infrastructure, and DevOps teams to strengthen platform security, logging, monitoring, and compliance initiatives.

+ Implement least-privilege access models and identity security best practices.

+ Support organizational compliance requirements and technology governance efforts. Leadership & Documentation

+ Mentor junior IT professionals and provide technical guidance on escalated issues.

+ Contribute to knowledge sharing, process improvement, and continuous learning initiatives.

+ Develop and maintain architecture diagrams, operational documentation, runbooks, and change management records. Requirements Required Qualifications + 5+ years of progressive IT experience, including at least 2 years in a Systems Administrator, Systems Engineer, Infrastructure Engineer, or similar role.

+ Experience supporting technology within manufacturing, distribution, laboratory, industrial, or other operational environments.

+ Working knowledge of Kubernetes administration, deployments, upgrades, or troubleshooting.

+ Strong understanding of networking, systems troubleshooting, and service dependency analysis.

+ Hands-on experience administering Identity and Access Management (IAM) platforms, Microsoft 365, and endpoint management solutions.

+ Strong scripting and automation experience using PowerShell, Python, JavaScript, or similar languages.

+ Experience integrating systems through APIs and developing operational automation.

+ Knowledge of endpoint security, access controls, and identity governance best practices.

+ Experience supporting Windows, macOS, and Linux environments.

+ Strong written and verbal communication skills with experience creating technical documentation and operational procedures.

+ Ability to work effectively in a dynamic, fast-moving environment and respond to critical operational incidents.

+ Ability to work onsite in the Mesa, AZ area.

+ Ability to lift and move hardware equipment up to 50 pounds when required. Preferred Qualifications

+ Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline.

+ Experience developing internal applications, tools, or software solutions to improve operational efficiency.

+ Familiarity with Infrastructure-as-Code and automation tools such as Terraform, Ansible, Helm, or similar technologies.

+ Strong networking background including VLANs, wireless infrastructure, VPN technologies, and firewall administration.

+ Experience with monitoring and observability platforms such as Grafana, Prometheus, Datadog, or similar solutions.

+ Knowledge of compliance and security frameworks including

ISO 27001, SOC

2, NIST, CMMC, or related standards. + Prior experience supporting advanced manufacturing, industrial technology, engineering, aerospace, robotics, or hardware-focused organizations.
