As a Systems Administrator I, you'll play an important role in supporting and maintaining the technology infrastructure that powers our organization. In this position, you'll work with both on-premises and cloud-based systems, partner with cross-functional teams, and contribute to a secure, reliable, and efficient IT environment. Whether you're optimizing system performance, supporting cybersecurity initiatives, or helping end users resolve technical challenges, your expertise will make a direct impact on the success of our business and the people we serve. What You'll Do Keep Our Systems Running Smoothly Configure, maintain, patch, and upgrade server and workstation operating systems. Monitor system performance and proactively identify opportunities for improvement. Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting to ensure maximum system availability. Develop and execute plans to maintain software and operating system compliance. Support Reliable Data Protection & Recovery Monitor system backups and verify successful completion of backup processes. Perform data restoration activities when needed. Assist in disaster recovery planning and support business continuity initiatives. Troubleshoot backup and recovery issues to minimize downtime and risk. Deliver Exceptional Technical Support Provide advanced technical support to end users in accordance with established service level agreements. Diagnose and resolve complex system and application issues efficiently. Collaborate with technical teams, vendors, and stakeholders to resolve escalated support requests. Serve as a trusted resource for IT-related questions and system guidance. Strengthen Security & System Compliance Support cybersecurity infrastructure and operational security initiatives. Assist with vulnerability remediation, patch management, and system hardening activities. Evaluate hardware, software, and vendor solutions and communicate findings to IT leadership. Help ensure technology environments remain secure, supported, and compliant. Drive Process Improvement & Documentation Create and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and technical documentation. Develop automation scripts to streamline software deployments, patching, and routine maintenance tasks. Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and service delivery. Document troubleshooting processes, resolutions, and best practices. Collaborate on Projects & Technology Initiatives Participate in project teams as a Subject Matter Expert for assigned systems and services. Support enterprise-wide technology implementations and upgrades. Assist with software evaluations, testing, and deployment efforts. Partner with internal departments and technical teams to meet evolving business needs. Provide backup support for related IT functions as assigned. What You Bring Experience & Education Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Minimum of four (4) years of related systems administration, infrastructure support, or IT operations experience. Experience supporting both on-premises and cloud-based environments preferred. Technical & Functional Skills Knowledge of server and workstation administration, system configuration, and troubleshooting. Experience with operating system patching, upgrades, and lifecycle management. Understanding of backup and recovery processes. Familiarity with cybersecurity best practices and infrastructure support. Experience developing scripts or automation solutions to improve system management. Ability to evaluate hardware, software, and technology solutions to support business objectives. Certifications Required CompTIA A+ Certification. Preferred Microsoft certifications. Work Environment Primarily on-site role located in Rancho Cordova, California. Office environment with moderate noise levels. Regular use of computers and standard office equipment. Frequent sitting, standing, walking, reaching, and use of hands for computer-based work. Occasional lifting and moving of items up to 15 pounds.
